Diving coaching experience: Carbon High School for 30 years (1973-2003), YMCA Winnepeg, Manitoba Canada (1956-1962).

Other coaching experience: Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Track and Field, Golf, Tennis, Baseball, Softball.

Personal Athletic Experience: 4th place in four events at the Pan American Trials in Canada: Decathalon, 5000 meters, 3000 meters and Steplechase.

Lone Peak, Pleasant Grove and American Fork

Diving coaching experience: 2 years at Fort Douglas Country Club and 3 years at American Fork Fitness Center

Other coaching experience: 8 years gymnastics at Tri City Gymnastics & Utah Sports Center, 5 years swimming at American Fork Fitness Center.

Personal Athletic Experience: Started diving the end of my Junior year in High School at Pleasant Grove and dove at the University of Utah. Was a member of the Student Athlete Mentors and the University of Utah Speaker's Buerau. Received the U of U athletic community service award two years in a row. Was team captain for Zones every year. Competed at WAC and Mountain West Conference Championships. After diving I have started competing in local triathlon events throughout the state. Top finishes include: 2nd place at the Utah Summer Games and 2nd place at the Pineview triathlon. My next goal is to compete and finish the Utah Summer Games triathlon after having my baby in May (2004).

Diving coaching experience: 18 years total: NCAA coach University of Alaska, High School coach Alaska, Club Alaska, USD Regional Representative, Recipient of the USD Mentor Award.

Personal Athletic Experience: Started diving at the age of 12. Dove 4 years Varsity at Mountain View High School in Mesa, AZ. Dove 7 years club.

Gene McIntyre



Schools currently coaching:

East and Highland High School

Diving coaching experience: 22 years total: He began age group coaching while teaching "learn to dive" classes at the University of Miami. After graduation, he was employed as the diving coach at the University of South Carolina, where he also started an age-group program. After two years, he moved to Atlanta, where he coached and owned the Atlanta diving association. Under his direction, the program generated over fifty national qualifiers, two national champions and numerous college scholarship athletes. After more than twenty years in Atlanta, he and his family moved to Salt Lake to work with the Olympics.

Personal Athletic Experience: Gene has won numerous state and regional championships in diving. He is a six time National age group champion, a world champion and a four year high school all American. He attended the University of Miami (FL) on a full athletic scholarship, there he won three conference championships and was a four time NCAA qualifier.
